[[32 Weeks]] + Mother's Day

It's MOTHER'S DAY! Granted I am only a momma-to-be so I don't want to act like this is a day necessarily for me but I will have my own little celebration =] I know that motherhood is not going to be a breeze when baby Faith is here, but this pregnancy with baby Faith is not a breeze either! I just ultimately know how worth it everything will be and that gets me through the painful and uncomfortable moments. I cannot wait to be your momma Faith!

On another note.... I was reading this article called "Having Babies (In Opposite World)" and it brought something seriously true to my attention. Joel and I are so blessed to have such supportive friends and family, but when it comes to others, there is such negativity over having babies. Here's a status this girl had posted, how true it is! It's amazing how society can make you believe in the "impending doom" she refers to. (Everything italicized is from the article)

Aside from my close friends and family…
How is it that 9 out of 10 people who talk to me about my pregnancy have negative things to say?? The comments are endless and quite creative in their effort to convince me that I should not be as thrilled as I am. It is usually prefaced by “JUST WAIT……(insert: miserable experience/undesirable life change)” Although they have me well prepared for “impending doom,” for now I will continue to be convinced that this is the most beautiful experience of my life thus far!
And now I will bask in all the flip-flopping glory that is happening inside my tummy right now. You can kick this mama all night long sweet little one:)
How many times have I heard THIS one...
"And then I remembered back to my early 20′s and the prevailing culture that said – ...get your college degree before you have babies, travel a little before you have babies, your body is going to completely change after you have babies, have fun and live it up before you have babies, get yourself financially secure before you have babies.  Be a responsible adult and wait wait wait to have those children… "
But here is what I believe is the truth behind it all!
Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling. You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for.
Christian mothers carry their children in hostile territory. When you are in public with them, you are standing with, and defending, the objects of cultural dislike. You are publicly testifying that you value what God values, and that you refuse to value what the world values. You stand with the defenseless and in front of the needy. You represent laying down your life for another—and laying down your life for another represents the gospel.
So HAPPY MOTHER'S DAY to ALL you beautiful mothers <3

How far along: 32 weeks
Total weight gain: +15lbs [[136]]
Maternity clothes? Lots of shirts, I only have one pair of maternity pants so I have been trying to squeeze into my regular jeans as much as I can in hopes that this dang weather will warm up a bit so I can switch to dresses and not have to buy any bottoms! Call me crazy but Id rather spend the money on Faith!
Stretch marks? Some changes on my boobs but I can't tell if its a stretch mark or not... Staying real optimistic about it though ;]
Sleep: (sorry in advance for the novel!) I think I may have found a solution! One night I was determined to try to get a good night sleep so I started my night out with a bath and did a eucalyptus body scrub while I listened to the relaxation station on pandora (Which is AWESOME by the way). Then when I went to bed I added an extra pillow under the pillow I sleep with every night and adjusted my body pillow so that if I turned to my other side I wasn't fighting the blanket and pillow. I ALSO kept the piano music going and since its pandora after it plays for a while it will stop and ask "Are you still listening?" so its kind of like a timer anyways so I don't have to worry about it playing all night =] I obviously wont be taking a bath every night, however, I am definitely investing in some eucalyptus body lotion or wall flower to put next to the bed! I slept like a baby for the first time in a long time! I also went to the dentist last week and they said I grind my teeth pretty bad at night which could also cause the sleepless nights, and when I read up on it, taking a bath and trying meditation or relaxation techniques could help! So it is no wonder I have been getting better sleep! YAY!
Best moment this week: Finding a way to get some better sleep =]
Miss Anything? Not really anything this week! Very content.
Movement: Joel got to feel the fish out of water movement that I have been trying to tell everyone about! Even he thought it was so weird! We have got a swimmer ;] And I can now feel her boney features sometimes when she moves, SERIOUSLY freaks me out lol.
Food cravings: Dunkin donuts =] We actually just bought a dozen donuts the other day for the two of us! And then after work Joel came home with another dozen! Nutritionist said I am a tad under weight, so... packin on the donuts while I have the excuse to! Also strawberries blueberries and kiwi.
Anything making you queasy or sick: I was feeling sorta nauseous a couple of days last week, to where chocolate and sweets sounded terrible and I could hardly eat much... which was weird... very very weird.
Labor Signs: Still braxton hicks, the other day I tried to time them after I realized they were coming so often, and the first one was 4 minutes apart, then 15 minutes, then it took another hour and I had 3 more that were 10 minutes and then about another hour and had some more... they are so irregular so I wasn't too worried, but when I see my doctor she will DEFINITELY be hearing about it.
Symptoms: My bladder can't hold a single drop. She thinks my bladder is a trampoline, its the most uncomfortable thing! Also I noticed that I get full faster now that my stomach has less room... but that just means smaller portions and more frequent trips to the fridge!
Belly Button in or out? Flat
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: So very happy! Which is odd considering we have no friends here any more =[ But we have been enjoying our time together so much, its been nice =]
Looking forward to: Next ultrasound on Tuesday to see if my placenta has moved up and our maternity pictures!

Oh Belly =]

Dunkin' Dates with this keeper ;]

This was absolutely adorable and hilarious! Every night before bed, Joel and I read "Married for life" which basically just has a bunch of stories and advice from couples that have been married for 50+ years. Super cute read =] But any who, Oakley was snuggled up between us on his back like a little baby and not even a paragraph into the first story of the night, he was out cold and snoring. I was dying, it was seriously hilarious! Looks like we are getting our practice in for Faith ;]

I missed 31 weeks, so here it was... I think she was stretching out here! Talk about pointy belly! [Sleepy hubs in bed]

Also needed more room in the closet... so another bar was necessary! Spoiled rotten.
